Junior zwyciężył

Po raz drugi w tym sezonie junior zwyciężył w turnieju wchodzącym w europejski cykl Dynamic Billard Best of the East 2008. Pierwszy raz zdarzyło się to w Polsce w kwietniu, a główny puchar wywalczył Mariusz Skoneczny (PL). Tym razem złoty medal z Kijowa przywiózł 16-letni Mieszko Fortuński Polska. W finale pokonał Karola Skowerskiego Polska 9:8.

Zawody w kijowskim klubie Weekend były sukcesem polskiej ekipy. W 1/8 turnieju grali wyłącznie bilardziści Polskiego Związku Bilardowego. Najlepsi z innych państw: A. Koshevoy, D. Osipienko, V. Koriagin, Y. Novosad (wszyscy Ukraina), J O`Brien Wielka Brytania i N. Topanchev Bułgaria odpadli w 1/16 finału. Łącznie zagrały 54 osoby z 7 państw. Niespodzianką był brak awansu do fazy pucharowej zwycięzcy Ukrainian Open 2006 i wicemistrza Bulgarian Open 2007 Melkoniana Babkena Armenia, utytułowanego bilardzisty Dimitra Czuprova Białoruś i zajmującego 5 lokatę w rankingu Best of the East 2008, mistrza Polski Huberta Łopotko. Przed nami jeszcze dwa turnieje. W październiku na Słowacji, a w listopadzie na Węgrzech. W rankingu łącznie znajduje się 280 zawodników z 10 państw.

W Kijowie rozegrano także oddzielny turniej kobiecy, w którym zwyciężyła Jana Pavlutskaja. Druga była Yulia Evsieyenko, a trzecia Viktoria Nagornaya i Daria Krasnazor.

Gościem zawodów był wiceminister sportu Ukrainy Mirosalav Vasilic Dutcak. Informację o rywalizacji przekazał kanał 1 telewizji oraz kanał kijowski. Szczególnego wsparcia sponsorskiego udzieliła firma Weekend z Kijowa.

Junior division player was the winner again!!!

For the second time this season, the winner of the European Series of Dynamic Billiard Best of the East comes out of the juniors division. Back in April, Mariusz Skoneczny Poland, still the Junior division player, had taken out the main prize. This time, the player who took out the gold medal in Kiev, Ukraine, was the 16-years old, Mieszko Fortunski Poland, who, in the final match, defeated Karol Skowerski Poland, 9:8.

The tournament, that took place on perfectly arranged premises of the Weekend Club in Kiev, was the thorough success of the team from Poland. In the quarterfinals there were Polish players only. Best pretenders from other countries: A. Koshevoy, D. Osipienko, V. Koriagin, Y. Novosad (all of Ukraine), J O`Brien Great Britain i N. Tapanchev Bulgaria were all defeated in the 1/16 stage. 54 players from 7 countries registered for the tournament. Some good players, who did not qualified even to the knock-out stages were: the winner of the Ukrainian Open 2006 & the silver medalist of the Bulgarian Open 2007 Babken Melkonian Armenia, well known on the Tour Dimitriy Czuprov Belarus or Hubert Lopotko Poland, who was in the fifth place in the provisional ranking. In the absence of the ranking leader, Mateusz Sniegocki Poland, who was competing at the World 10-ball Championships in Manila, Philippines, there were chances to take over the provisional ranking lead. Dominik Zajac Poland (3rd) and Artiom Koshevoy Ukraine (2nd) got only the 9th place, but it was Artiom Koshevoy, who returned to the ranking leader`s place. Still, Sniegocki is only 15 points behind, whilst Mariusz Skoneczny Poland, Adam Skoneczny Poland and Karol Skowerski Poland are not that far behind either. There are still two more tournaments to come very shortly, Slovakia Open in October and Hungary Open in November.

There was also a separate tournament for the women players. The winner was Jana Pavlutskaya Ukraine, the runner up was Yulia Evsieyenko Ukraine, third places went to Viktoria Nagornaya Ukraine and Daria Krasnozhon Ukraine.

At the moment, the ranking chart counts no less than 280 participants from 10 countries.

The very special guest of the Ukraine Open 2008 was the honorable V-ce Minister of Sports of Ukraine, Mr. Miroslav Vasilic Dutcak. Reports and highlights from the tournament were screened on the Channel 1 of the Ukrainian Television and on the Kiev`s Channel. Many thanks to the Kiev`s Weekend Company for the sponsor`s support
